Driving around town today I saw a cool little sight: another 3-door Infra-Red 2003 SVT Focus! It was a bit more cosmetically-challenged than mine (not that it’s perfect either) but it’s always cool to see your car’s twin, especially when there’s only like 1010 other ones out there.

I do too, they fit so well with the rest of the car’s weird and funky little lines.

They’re really well-priced nowadays for what you get (great chassis and engine especially), flip side is that since they’re so cheap the ricer crowd have scooped them up and started modifying them so it’s kinda tough to find a good one. Either way the SVTF’s are a great second/autocross car if you’re looking for a fun car on a budget, FWD notwithstanding (though there’s basically no understeer in these things, like you have to be seriously hustling to do anything but get the rear end to swing around).

As far as I can tell it’s just a gelcoated insert that covers up the structural part of the C-pillar and completes the shape of the window, not sure if it has any other function than cosmetic.
